His Scholarly Background & Teachers
After studying at San Francisco State University, he pursued the study of sacred knowledge, studying under some of the foremost Islamic scholars of North America, Africa, and South Asia. Hadrat Mawlana Tameem has been granted numerous ijazat in the Islamic sciences of Fiqh, Hadith, Aqidah, Tafsir, Usul and the numerous books of hadith including the Sihah Sittah. Some of the illustrious scholars from whom he attained ijazah of hadith from are the likes of Mufti Taqi Usmani and Mawlana Salimullah Khan. After completing the Dars Nizami curriculum, Hadrat immersed himself in the study of tasawwuf and stayed in the company of Hadrat Mawlana Shah Hakim Muhammad Akhtar (Hadratwala) (rahimullahu ta’ala), upon the instruction of his teacher, Hadrat Mawlana Mumtaz al-Haq al-Shahid (rahimullah). Hadratwala granted Hadrat Mawlana Tameem khilafah to teach and ijaza to take bay’ah of students in the four silsilas of the Thanwi silsila. After his first shaykh’s demise, Hadrat quickly connected himself to the Khadim al-Khas of his murshid, Hadrat Sayyid Ishrat Jamil Mir Saheb (rahimullahu ta’ala). After his quick demise, Hadrat eventually connected himself to his current murshid and shaykh, Hadrat Mawlana Qamaruzzam Illahabadi (damat barakatuhum).

Hadrat Mawlana Tameem Ahmadi (damat barakatuhum) is the founding father and visionary behind the establishment of
- Masjid al Huda, a local masjid in Union City, California
- Nur Institute, an educational initiative dedicated to the revival of Islamic spirituality, purification of the self, and rectification of the character through classes, conferences, and programs.
- Nur Publications, a publishing house dedicated to relevant, easy-to-read books on Islamic spirituality
- Khanqah Imdadiyya Ashrafiyya, the first Khanqah in the Bay Area located in Union City, California
- Darul Ulum al-Ashrafiyya, a madrasah and seminary dedicated to teaching advanced Islamic sciences and part-time evening classes for Adults.
